Sid and I left Auckland on the 11th on our way to Cardiff. We flew via Beijing with a transit of almost 10 hours making our total flight time to Paris approx 36 hours. I think its only fair that I give my feedback on what I think of Air China. The service and food was average. But I must say that the leg room in the cattle class was pretty good. I say that because I am over 6 feet and I was moderately comfortable. Beijing airport is nothing to be bragged about. For e.g, the choice of food is quite limited. I maybe a bit harsh as I have mostly flown Singapore Airlines in the past and so I tend to compare each airport with Changhi and for obvious reasons, I get disappointed each time. So overall, our experience was just OK.
Oh yeah, I was about to end the post until I remembered the flight from Beijing to Paris. It got delayed for more than 3 hours and no one knows what the reason was. After asking a few times and getting blank stares from the staff, Sid did not bother checking again. Once we boarded the flight, we were at the tarmac for almost an hour and again we got no reasons why we just stood there. I don't even think we heard the captain speak before take off. So to sum it up, I wouldn't rate our experience with Air China. But hey, it got us to Paris and our adventure begins.
